Let God be the center of our lives and our homes, let us trust Him, His plan, and heart, and witness how much joy and love will abound in our lives and our homes. Some even view having a house as an accomplishment, a milestone. And, a big part of me believes that aside from the logical reasons, we view houses as essential parts of our lives because we long for a place we can call our own.
He is stating clearly and without any doubt who he will serve. It didn’t matter to him what any other Israelite and their families decided to do he was establishing what was right for his house. That declaration from Joshua and the Israelites centuries ago is still relevant today, as we examine and honestly assess whether we are living lives in service to God. It’s a bold proclamation made that many Christians even today seek to follow in their daily lives, but what should be realized is that a meaningful declaration made centuries ago can be lived out today as though it were just spoken yesterday.
